  The Governor of Rivers state, His Excellency Nyesom Wike has said that Nigerians have realized that voting APC into power is a mistake that must be corrected in 2023 Elections by voting PDP. The governor made this known in Yola, Adamawa State during his inspection of overhead bridge and an underground subway being constructed by the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri. Anti-corruption War: Ex-AG and Ex-Customs Boss Refund N8b to FG

Details have emerged on how two former senior public officers returned about N8billion to the coffers of the Federal Government to avoid being prosecuted. A former Accountant-General of the Federation (AG-F), Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, and an ex-Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Inde Dikko, refunded N6.3 billion and N1.9 billion respectively. Otunla was the AG-F between 2011 and 2015 while Dikko was the Customs’ Comptroller General between 2009 and 2015. While Otunla returned N6,392,000,000.00; Dikko returned N1,596,000,000.00 (naira equivalent of $8million, computed at N197 to a United States dollar the prevailing exchange rate at the time). Details of the deals leading to the refunds are contained in documents Otunla and Dikko filed in court to back up the suits they instituted against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC). No Registration Of Vehicles Without NIN Number - FRSC

  The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says the issuance of the National Identification Number (NIN) is compulsory for all categories of vehicle registration. In a statement issued on Saturday, the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, said the move, which is in total compliance with the presidential directives, would commence from the second quarter of the year. “Beginning from the second quarter of this year (2021), if you want to register your vehicle, it is going to be compulsory for you to provide your NIN. This is part of the security checks,” FRSC Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, was quoted as saying. “So once you provide your NIN, it makes the matter easier and helps the government in national planning, critical decision making and also enhance adequate Intelligence gathering for the security of lives and properties.” The FRSC had mandated all applicants of the National Driver’s Licence in the country to present their National Identification Number before they could...

Nigerians To Pay N15k To Correct Their NIN Details, N5k For Card Renewal – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, announced on Wednesday that it would cost National Identification Number holders N15,000 to correct their dates of birth in the commission’s database. Mrs Funmi Opesanwo, the commission’s Regional Coordinator,  revealed this at the NIMC’s office in the Alausa area of Lagos State. According to her, NIN holders are also required to pay a processing fee of N5,000 for card renewal or card replacement as well as an address modification fee of N500. She said there are different services that the commission offers, noting that NIN enrolment is free but there are fees attached to card renewal, correction of date of birth and change of address. Opesanwo said, “For the date of birth correction, there is a processing fee of N15,000. For card renewal or card replacement, there is a processing fee of N5,000. Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, says President, Muhammadu Buhari has sacrificed the dreams of Nigerians on the altar of nepotism by allegedly pursuing Northern hegemony.
