April 25, 2024 The Lagos State Government disclosed that Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras captured 850,000 traffic violations over a 15-month period. These cameras, totaling 53 in number, are strategically installed across various locations in the state to conduct routine monitoring checks. During the 2024 Ministerial Press Briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa – Ikeja, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, highlighted the efficiency of the Traffic Management Solution (TMS) device. He noted that in the last three months alone, the TMS successfully recorded 26,816 real-time traffic infringements, significantly enhancing traffic enforcement. Eko Electricity Distribution Company confirmed the collapse in a public notice that read thus; "Dear esteemed Customers,  we would like to inform you of another system collapse on the national grid which occurred at 5:10 p.m on (Tuesday) Before the collapse, Nigerians barely enjoyed 15 hours of light per day. Modrasah Viral Video: Parents Confessed They Approved Flogging Of Their Children At Kwara Islamic School —Government

  The government of Kwara State appeals for calm while the committee set up does its works and submits a report for further action. The Kwara State government has suspended the head of Musbaudeen Islamiya Arabic school in Ganmo, Ifelodun local government area of the state for ordering the brutal flogging of five students, including a female student for allegedly attending a birthday party in a clubhouse. Alfa Musbaudeen ordered 4 boys to flog a girl in the viral video. This was made known in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu. The statement also confirmed the parents of the affected students confessed that they consented to the flogging of their children.  According to the statement, the government has set up a panel to investigate the incident while the affected students have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
