National Assembly Extends NCC NIMC Number Linking By 10 Weeks
There has been confusion since National Communication Commission gave the directives of linking all SIM cards with National Identification Numbers within 2 weeks or risk losing the number. The confusion is about the possibility of meeting the deadline because of the population of Nigerian phone users and the short period.
But here is a good News as the Nigerian National Assembly in a joint session has made a resolution to extend the NCC NIMC number Linking by 10 weeks. The National assembly in a bit to eased the sufferings of Nigerians have made a resolution to extend the sim card NIMC linking by 10 good weeks.
The move was made by deputy majority leader, Rep Toby Okechukwu. The National assembly has directed its motion on the sufferings Nigerians are presently facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other economic meltdowns. The motion was adopted into a resolution unanimously in the end.
The National assembly has asserted that the two weeks ultimatum given by NCC was too short and will definitely put Nigerians into more untold hardships. Due to their conclusions, the linking of NIMC number to sim cards has been extended to February 2021. That way, many Nigerians would have opportunity to link their sim cards to the NIMC number.
